Art Work
|
|
In 1999, Susan attended a watercolor class and enjoyed the medium. She
studied art from then on, availing herself of art classes
offered at the prison, reading art books and magazines, and practicing
as often as possible. Susan worked in watercolor, acrylic,
pastel,
graphite, pen & ink, and colored pencil. The last several years she
also studied jewelry making and enjoyed it very much. Susan
always realized
that her interest and her talents were gifts from God, as was the
simple
fact that the California Prison System allowed her the opportunity to
enjoy them. This is something Susan did not take for granted. As such
she always dedicated her work to serving those in the community, and
was able to raise thousands of dollars for the victims of her
crimes. Susan's art has been shown as part of several exhibitions of inmate art here in California over the last ten years, as well as being included in the Sexual Assault Survivors Show held at Dowling College in New York in 2006. Some of Susan's jewelry is available as prizes in the "Prizes and Rewards" section of this website. |
